Description
Remote Circuit Design Engineer
Introduction: Designing What Powers Tomorrow
Can your circuits speak innovation? Ours do—and we’re building the future one schematic at a time. This fully remote opportunity empowers you to drive electronic design from concept to deployment. As a Circuit Design Engineer, you’ll architect low-power, high-performance systems that live in medical devices, smart sensors, wearables, and aerospace components. If turning complex specs into efficient, elegant circuitry excites you, your next significant role starts here.
Core Responsibilities and Impact
What You’ll Drive
You’re not just drawing lines and gates—you’re laying the foundation for devices that millions depend on. You’ll own every step of the circuit lifecycle, from simulation and prototyping to DFT strategies and validation. Your intuition for analog signal integrity, mixed-signal coordination, and power efficiency will elevate every design review.
Key Responsibilities
- Design analog and digital circuits optimized for low noise, low power, and high reliability.
- Lead schematic capture, layout supervision, and design reviews with EE teams.
- Validate circuit behavior via simulation (SPICE, LTspice) and real-world test benches.
- Select components that balance cost, availability, and performance without compromise.
- Create design documentation for compliance, traceability, and peer transparency.
- Interface with firmware and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Drive root-cause analysis for failed prototypes and refine for robust field readiness.
- Collaborate across time zones using remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Miro, Notion).
Tools and Work Environment
Collaboration Stack
We move fast, but you’ll always have space to focus intensely. We value clarity over chaos, and our documentation-first culture means you’ll never be left guessing.
Primary Tools
- Circuit simulation: LTspice, Cadence OrCAD/PSpice, Altium Designer
- Version control: Git, Bitbucket
- Project coordination: Notion, Jira, Confluence
- Communication: Slack, Zoom, Loom
This is a fully remote role designed for async collaboration and global engineering excellence.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
What Sets You Apart
- You simplify complex circuits into elegant systems that scale.
- You don’t just follow datasheets—you question them.
- You can debate op-amp biasing or power rail decoupling with confidence and humility.
- You see the bigger product picture beyond your schematic.
- You know when “close enough” is too far.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB-level circuit design and simulation
- Mastery in analog design, mixed-signal interfacing, and signal conditioning
- Proven experience with schematic capture and layout review tools (Altium, OrCAD)
- Ability to design for manufacturability and testability (DFM/DFT)
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and compliance requirements
- Comfortable navigating remote collaboration workflows across teams
Bonus Points For
- Prior experience with wearable or IoT hardware design
- Deep understanding of power management ICs and switching regulators
- Experience designing for harsh environments (thermal, vibration, etc.)
- Prior contributions to open-source hardware or community projects
Purpose and Long-Term Value
Why This Role Matters
Your designs will power tools that monitor vital signs, enable scientific discovery, or explore space. You’re not building consumer gadgets—you’re crafting precision tools that solve real human problems. Every resistor you choose and every ground plane you route contributes to something larger.
Growth & Impact
You’ll shape onboarding workflows that reduce friction for our team, document reusable circuit blocks that speed up new projects, and introduce layout practices that prevent thermal bottlenecks before they start. We trust you to drive meaningful change—not just follow checklists.
Compensation and Next Steps
Salary and Benefits
We value your expertise and your time. The annual salary for this position is $42,673, with performance bonuses and hardware stipends offered for exceptional contributions.
