Key Responsibilities
Accurate Code Assignment
- Review patient medical records to determine proper assignment of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes.
- Apply national and local coding guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance and ethical practices.
- Interpret clinical documentation with a keen eye to detail, ensuring all diagnoses and procedures are fully captured for reimbursement accuracy and compliance.
Audit and Review Processes
- Participate in internal audits to ensure accuracy and identify areas for documentation improvement.
- Provide feedback to providers and teams to enhance documentation standards.
- Correct billing errors as needed, reducing risk and promoting clean claims submission in alignment with payer policies.
Data Integrity and Quality Assurance
- Maintain coding consistency and integrity across patient records to support health information accuracy.
